A Unique Perspective on Tesla FSD
I worked on the development of Unmanned System for over 20 years and in this video I gave a little history of those systems before taking Tesla's new FSD V12.3.3 for my first drive.

We had a big storm roll through Florida last night. Normally I would not be too worried but since we have our battery backed solar power system shut down during this upgrade We are currently depending on the grid for power. NorthStar PTO Generator on Kubota B7100
One way to simplify the tops of the loops is to use a street 90 degree elbow that fits directly into the regular 90, eliminating the small piece of pipe and one solder joint.
when you are using the solar, do you have to have the delta 2 near the panel?
The cord that comes with it is pretty short but you can buy an extension. I run mine off a 50 foot extension out the window so the unit is inside and the panel is outside all the time. I run this unit everyday. amzn.to/4cF5vwS
@@HomesteadEngineering thanks so much for sending a link! much appreciated.
Does the metal roof make the egg box too hot? We're having one built right now and the guy who is building it is worried about it.
I just measured it. Here in Florida it is about 95F today, the sun is shinning directly on the roof. Roof temp is 133F. Inside the nest box is 112F. The coop is not being used and is buttoned up, very little airflow. Inside the coop is 110F. I assume that if I open all the windows it would be around 98F in there.
For future reference never use a pressure washer itll remove the coating that most solar panels have , also dont wash them with tap water unless you want calcium build up on them... yes it seems a little ridiculous but just some tips that might help 😊
the trick is to have frozen gallons of water in the freezer to keep frig cold during a power outage.
Probably a good idea to freeze gallons of water if you see a storm headed your way. Thanks!
With a clqass 8 HDT do yo really need a distribution hitch

Does this generator have Eco Mode if it does where is it?? Can Eco mode run on propane
I don't think it has an "Eco Mode" but it does only run as hard as needed to maintain the load. Thanks!
Love your videos but it hurts 😂to look at some because the go pro or camera shows a fish eye picture
Yes, some folks don't notice at all and others it really bothers. I'm not sure why.
Wow. 😲😲😲 I must be doing something wrong. I only got 4 1/2 hours refrigerator time from my Delta 2! I'm not happy with it at all. I also bought just one EcoFlow 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel. When I hooked it up, it told me it would take 28 hours to charge up the unit, and it was noon with no clouds in the sky. I understand 220W is just a fraction of what the unit will take, but I was hoping for better than 28 hours. I even made sure I had the panel facing the correct direction. I also didn't realize you could put an extension cord on the panels. That's handy. Is there someway to program the unit for more efficiency? I just took it out of the box, charged it up, and plugged in the fridge. @HomesteadEngineering
Lets dig into this a bit: 1. How many Watts were you getting from the solar? You can see this on the screen when charging. Should be about 180ish in the full sun. 2. How much power does your fridge draw? you can measure this with a meter: amzn.to/4brfi8S Those two things will tell us a lot.
@@HomesteadEngineering on the Delta unit, it showed 175 when the fridge was running, and 35 at idle. I don't have one of the little meters yet that I can plug straight into the fridge to show the wattage. The solar panel was in full noon sun, I made sure it was facing the right direction, and it showed 87 input. I was not using the unit while trying to charge it with the solar panel. I just have the short cord that came with the panels to plug it into the unit, so I actually had to drag the unit outside to charge it. I need to look into getting an extender.
Having a hot tub cause issues ? I didnt understand that part of the video and i installed my unit and its not starting just how it was for the video
I removed a hot tub from our house years ago and I used the dedicated circuit from that old hot tub to power the mini-split. I had forgotten that the tub had a switch and that's why my system did not work at first. I had to remove the switch.
Can't a predator just dig under those concrete sections? How deep do they go?
I think they are over a foot deep so maybe? I will probably add a predator apron around the coop if I have any trouble.

Torqued that ball nut to about 900lbs lol.
other words ecoflow will not work like having full size batteries and 12volt fridges as they have inside the vans
As long as the sun is shining ??
Yes, With the sun shinning it takes just about all this unit can do. If you really want to hold up a refrigerator, I would go bigger (more solar input and more battery). BTW: I use this unit every day. Its running a window AC right now. No issues so far.
Hasn't anyone told you. Owning Jap Equipment makes you a SCUMBAG
So I have 7 ft door but my opener doesn’t line up with the current ceiling bracket, can’t move it because it’s already on a stud. Do I get a different bracket or add brackets?
Hard to say without seeing your setup. Typically you would have a cross brace from stud to stud and then two angle braces hanging down to the opener. You should be able to move the whole thing to where you need it. If that does not work (left to right) then maybe get a new cross brace long enough to cover three studs (rafters).
how many horsepower?
can I know what is the numbers on the machine for the eggs ? because when I put them they just explode
Did you pre-freeze them?
@@HomesteadEngineering no unfortunately and I put on the machine 125 f and extra dry 2:00 and the extra freeze 1:00
@@gee9951 I would try freezing it overnight 1st and use automatic settings.

Would this particular combiner box eliminate the need for a disconnect switch for the pv strings?
I don't think so but there is a very similar box that would. Check this out. ua-cam.com/video/JMdsmvouP0s/v-deo.htmlsi=VMyifaReeokyRHl0
Where did you get your metal canning shelf dividers?? I need those!!
Those are corner bead. Found at Lowes and the Depot near the drywall. Sorry for the slow response. :)
It's $190 now.
What would the additional battery do to the equation?
I don't think that would help much as the limitation is in the collection. I would probably go out and get a single (11-60V) 450 Watt panel from a local supplier with no shipping cost. Maybe $200 for the panel. That would make a big difference.
I use qgms never ever qwnt with flooded cell.

Dramamine prevents and treats motion sickness symptoms
Thanks for sharing the video! So, supposedly, these SPDs should be installed on all electronic appliances like fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, anything electronic, no?
I am not an electrician and can not advise you on this. That said, I would not put them on every device but rather on the main panel of my house where power comes in from the utility. That should squash anything from the line. I would also look at anything that goes outside the house such as a power line to a light on a metal pole. That could attract a lightning strike and bring a surge in through the "back door" so to speak.
I bought this generator and it won’t run my 50 gallon electric water heater and dogs out every time I switch it on it and it only has 4500 W elements in it but it runs everything else. Fine wonder why?
I would see if you can get 7500ish Watts out of it using some other load than the water heater. That will eliminate the heater as the problem. How old is it? Is it stored in a dry location? Did you start it up every 2 months or so and run it under load? Running gas or propane?
Yes, I fired up every other month to make sure she’s running fine. She’s in the barn nice and dry. I usually run it on propane and I did notice after I fired up again that it’s only putting out 218 V not 240 so I think the armature is going out of the thing already. It’s only two years old Flawless so far but it’s going downhill
The water heater only runs on one element at a time and they’re only 4500 W. They never both come out at the same time but you probably know that it runs well and everything else in the house hates the water heater all of a sudden and it used to run it fine.
Just finished my system. Instead of coming out of the tank to the system. I mine comes out of the pump through the system and into the tank. That way it keeps the moisture out of the tank
I'm guessing that will work better than mine. Good job!
What is the pitch on your roof?
I don't remember but maybe 6-12
This was a great demonstration. In summary as long as i have the solar pannels (not included) I can run indefinitively with good sun. Also, By only turning on the fridge a few hours a day I could probably run some lights and the TV indefinitively.
If the sun is shinning it will rake about all this unit has to keep the fridge up and running. To run more, I would get a 450Watt regular panel from a local supply store ($200). That would give you some extra power to play with. Thanks!
Why would you unplug the fridge just leave it and see what happens
As a test. Its a spare fridge with only water in it.
What thickness did you use for the HDPE sheet? Was two 48”x96 sheets enough to complete the job(sides and floor)… if not, what sizes and qty did you order for this project?
I used 3 complete sheets. I had to piece together the cleanout door. 3/8" 4'x8' sheets. The link is in the description. It runs about $250/sheet I think.
Wrll the only thing that i see that the rwfrigirent line are coil up that is a oil trap.😮
Yes, several AC folks have pointed out that it should be flat. No problems yet. I'll post if I have a problem. Thanks!
I bought the Magnum X7 last month. Seen reviews and looks like as long as you clean the machine really well, it'll work for a long time. After I bought it, I realized the x17 would've fit my needs just the same.
I recently painted another house with it and this thing has been great! ua-cam.com/video/pOw-vmwuRBY/v-deo.htmlsi=boiE6415RkWteqf3
Thank you for sharing your videos!! What if you use the normal procedures (connections) and then add the 50 amp outlet to connect to your home transfer switch? So the ST switch would also shut it off the 50 amp outlet once the utility returns.
Water in the well can still be contaminated. Store water please
Very unlikely that the well would be contaminated. You have to put your time and money into the most effective use.
I love this idea and am considering making a similar version. How is this holding up 7 years later? Did you have any issues with the plywood bowing in the middle?
Its holding up great. I don't think this is the best answer unless you have a large group or restaurant type usage. Its basically too big for our usage at this point. I would go with a regular shelf and then fill it with these: amzn.to/4e8B0km
Looks like it works well. About the only thing I would change would be cutting the internal t-tracks about an inch shorter so you can easily remove and instal the clamps
Thanks!
I have the same tractor, can you tell me how far apart the inside discs are?

This is an absolutely beautiful coop! I've been glued to this series for the past few days and just want to say "BRAVO!" We will be building our own coop as well. We have 4 chicks right now, and will just be using a kit coop until we can finish our own. I saw in earlier comments you were planning to work on this again this year. Do you know when you might have some more videos up?
Thanks Jodi, Building a coop like this is a bit of a challenge but a very cool project for sure. I did plan to work on it over the winter but got caught up in other projects and ran o of time. Unfortunately, the window to work outside in Florida is only November to April. I think its far enough that you could easily finish from here on your own. I would wait for the copula as I do have some ideas on that!
@HomesteadEngineering Thanks for the response! The cupola is what I'm interested in and what rope do you plan to wrap your roost bars with? I certainly don't blame you. It's hot and humid in Iowa as well, but for once we are actually getting a spring this year! Good luck with all your projects!
